The Bobbing American

These are difficult times. Standing up for yourself in a country that runs on money & politics is almost impossible for the hard working middle class. But we must fight to stay on top of it. I don't know how best to do it, so I'll try the only way I know how....by spreading the word.

monsanto problem

Just in case you haven't heard...you should be aware that an agri-business company named Monsanto, IS PATENTING our natural food sources, by genetically altering them, then growing them in the fields. They do not have to tell you how they are altered or even that they are altered. The seeds of these plants are infertile, so that every year the farmers will need to by more seed from Monsanto. If the altered strain ends up in your NON monsantos field, they can sue you since they hold the patent. EVEN IF IT GOT INTO YOUR FIELD by blow over, you will be sued. Check it out. Or look it up for yourself. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/05/01/this-company-may-be-the-biggest-threat-to-your-future-health.aspx?source=nl

http://www.organicconsumers.org/monlink.cfm OH, and just in case your interested this is the same company poising our MILK SUPPLY, browse monsanto/milk/hormone....

AND they are the reasons the EU, Japan, and Korea won't import our BEEF.

The Sisters of San Jose

When I was 4 or 5 (1960's) my recently divorced mother needed to put me into a daycare so she could finish her teaching degree. She so loved the Nuns at San Jose Mission that she asked them if they would watch me. They so loved her I guess, because they agreed. I was the only child at the mission, which was alright since I was painfully shy. It was also interesting to me that the Nun's were almost as shy as I was. I found out recently in discussion with mother, that half of the Sisters at San Jose had taken a vow of silence. Oh.
Meals were served in the dining room, that had the longest table I'd ever seen and more chairs than I cared to count. I was never allowed to eat there, or with them. Another vow I think. Instead, I ate my meals in the kitchen. I was the only one at my table, but I wasn't alone. There was always one Nun there cooking and serving the others. She would see to me, then send me out to play with the peacocks. I learned from her to sit up straight, not dally, and never put whole crackers into my soup. I also learned that a Nun curses just like my Uncle Cecil, (when forearm meets hot pot.) OK, not EXACTLY like Uncle Cecil, but it was certainly cussing. Apparently not ALL the nuns at San Jose took vows of silence.
