Hmm...Vice President.

I know I wouldn't be suitable for the job, since the skeleton in my Democratic closet is that I think Ron Paul hung the friggin moon ( a point which I'm certain causes small dust storms in my Union Father's Urn! I'm sorry, Dad.) But back to the choices...It can NOT be Hillary, she's TOO big for the ticket, she has too much money, and for some of us, her past is just too suspicious. The other obvious contender is John Edwards, but I'm really still very angry at the way he just FELL OUT of the race as if my donations were NOTHING. Joe Biden is really very interesting, and I like that he has such tragedy shoring him up personally, but he isn't magnetic enough. Neither of the women senators & governors mentioned do it for me, HOWEVER I really do like Gov. Sebelius, she reminds me of a High School Principal. I could vote for Chuck Hagel, really I could. I don't care that he's a republican, but I think his party would hire outside help to destroy him if he crossed over...that will never do. So the only potentially viable candidate left that is qualified, dignified, and vetted ad nauseaum is Bill Richardson. And can we not say with all honesty that the new facial hair he sporting these days is muy guapo. si? He's the man. Of course I'm just begging for a grassy knoll event putting a latino and black man up for the BIG job, huh? Whoever, I say Good luck to all of these guys, in fact, this is the craziest time I have ever seen in this country....who knows what may happen next?

Meatless Report

The vegetarian diet is going well. My children are onboard as well. They weren't big meat heads anyway. Mother on the other hand thinks that I'm damaging my children, as well as myself. She BELIEVES that one must have meat to live....hard to believe she was really a child of the great depression. Of course my mom still serves corn and potatoes on the same plate and thinks she balanced the meal. No, don't try to tell mother that corn is a grain not a veggie....she isn't interested in all your blather.
The only other downside to this is that my inlaws have one more claim to support their "Michelle is a nut!" case. Yeah, well say what you want, nuts ARE PROTEIN!
The only thing I really miss sometimes, is a fat juicy Reuben Sandwich....mmm.
Better not even elaborate...

Obama

I'm glad he's the nominee. I would strongly urge him to distance himself from Billary. Everytime I think of him running with her as the VP, I keep seeing JFK and LBJ....well, actually I see LBJ standing with one hand raised and his other hand on the bible, beside the grief stricken First Lady....shiver.

Secret Ingredients, my *#@$!!

Well I've decided that the reason home grown vegetables are soooooooo much tastier than store bought is the specially added secret ingredient. Yes, this mysterious little something that will never be added by the agribusinesses and megafarms, can only be found in home gardens and small market gardens.

What is it??? It's SWEAT.

I gardened today before high noon and still deposited at least 1 pint of sweat into the soil as I pruned, weeded, and thinned my darlings. I figure a pint every day or two, is quite a sizable amount, and should obviously by considered when figuring what you used to fertilize your home garden. Interesting enough, there are tons of electrolytes as well as anti microbial found in human sweat. PLUS, the addition of sweat to my garden makes me one helluva recycler, huh. Watch, now none of my friends will want my tomatoes....

I Apologize.

I want to personally apologize to Myanmar and the Junta for our King, I mean President and First Lady. They are the only 2 people left in this country that believe the US Government handled Hurricane Katrina appropriately. The rest of us know, and we are horrified at what has happened to your country, and will be waiting (check books in hand, and MOUTHS SHUT) to help. Of course you should try to keep the generals out of the supply rooms, and you should perhaps think about letting in the Red Cross as well. Just an idea, but a helluva lot better than any advice FEMA will give you....

Why can't Ron Paul win?

I don't get it. Everytime I hear the man speak, whether it is under friendly terms or Fox attack, he sounds brilliant. The things he says, and the demeaner he uses to say it, it's inspiring. He never outright insults anyone, and he never stutters and backpeddles away from the BIG statements he makes. He made Guiliano lose the campaign momentum, by making him look as stupid as he really is, on national television. Ron Paul never gives up either. He's an effing Eveready Bunny! He's the most conservative man in politics, and he actually reads the reports that he's paid to read as a senator. WAIT A MINUTE, a Senator ACTUALLY doing his job? Maybe that's why nobody up there wants him in.....

Wright wrong!

Well, up until the press conference Rev Wright gave yesterday, I was willing to give him point. We are still a racially focused, classist elite society. But I think when he turned on Obama (who he claimed as one of his own,) he lost me. Stating that Obama says what he says to be electable, not because he is sincere, was a HUGE slap in the face.
Shame on you Reverend.
You should NEVER release tidbits like that, it was a violation of trust between a parishner and his pastor. The Reverend looked like he was playing up to the cameras and the attention.
His new title in my book shall be THE DISASTER BASTARD.
